In the 2025/2026 school year, the Ministry of Education introduced a new system for organizing winter holidays. Instead of the traditional four sessions, there are three. What does this mean for families planning a vacation? Check when the holidays fall in your voivodeship and how to prepare well for them.
Below you will find exact dates for each of the three sessions:
Mazowieckie
Pomorskie
Podlaskie
Świętokrzyskie
Warmińsko-Mazurskie
This is the earliest term - the holidays start just after the Epiphany. A good moment to catch your breath after the first semester.
Dolnośląskie
Kujawsko-Pomorskie
Łódzkie
Zachodniopomorskie
Małopolskie
Opolskie
Mid-winter - this is the time when the weather can be the most "wintry." If you plan holidays with snow activities, this date offers great chances.
Podkarpackie
Lubelskie
Wielkopolskie
Lubuskie
Śląskie
This is the last group - the holidays almost reach March, so you can expect longer days and feel the beginnings of spring in the air.
1. Book early - three sessions instead of four mean a larger number of people at once. Hotels, camps, or additional activities may fill up faster.
2. Set priorities - should the holiday be active (skiing, ice skating, winter sports), or rather calm and relaxing? Choose the place and form of rest according to your family's needs.
3. Plan attractions - it's worth having a "Plan B" for bad weather: games, books, creative activities, trips to the cinema, museum, activities with an animator, etc.
4. Check care availability - if you do not plan leave for the entire holiday period, check out day camps, winter camps, or city activities for children.
Regardless of when the holidays fall in your voivodeship, it's worth starting to plan your winter break now – with rest, fun, and quality time with loved ones in mind.
