Are two days enough to truly relax on the Baltic coast? Yes—especially if, instead of checking off different towns, you choose one base and plan short trips nearby.During a weekend with your dog in Rozewie, you can combine walks by the sea and along the cliffs, Lisi Jar, Jastrzębia Góra and a trip to the dog-friendly beach in Dębki.

Rozewie is also within reach for a short trip from larger cities. The drive from Warsaw is around 409 km and takes about 4 hours, while from Gdańsk it is around 69 km and about 1 hour.

The biggest advantage? You don't have to spend half the weekend in the car. Rozewie, Jastrzębia Góra, Lisi Jar and nearby walking areas are close to one another, while a longer trip can be limited to one direction, such as

A 2-day seaside weekend with your dog—ready-made

With 48 hours, don't try to see everything. It's better to choose three or four places and leave time for a regular walk than to spend the whole weekend following points on a map.

Day 1: Rozewie, cliffs and lighthouse

Take it easy when you arrive. Instead of getting straight back in the car, go for a walk around Rozewie. The area is ideal for a first post-journey walk with your dog, with coastal forest, cliffs and paths leading towards the sea.

One of the most distinctive landmarks is Rozewie Lighthouse. If you're travelling with your pet, touring the interior need not be the main goal. Your dog will enjoy the route through the surrounding green areas and onwards towards the coast much more.

Don't plan too long a distance for the first day. A walk of around 4–6 km is plenty, especially after several hours in the car. Along the way, stop at viewpoints, head down towards the sea or simply follow part of the forest trail.

The evening? Best spent by the water again. If the weather is good, a Baltic sunset is a simple end to the day requiring no extra logistics.

Day 2: dog-friendly beach in Dębki and

Get up earlier on day two. Mornings by the sea are usually calmer and, in summer, much more comfortable for your dog than walking on hot sand at midday.

A good destination is Dębki. Here you can plan a longer seaside walk and use a section popular with people travelling with pets. Before setting off, check the current rules for the specific entrance, as beach and bathing-area regulations may change between seasons.

You don't need to spend the whole day there. For a weekend, this routine works well: morning walk, some beach time, return to Rozewie and

In the afternoon, head to Lisi Jar in Jastrzębia Góra. This is a completely different walk from the beach, leading through a wooded gorge with more shade and varied terrain. In warm weather, it is definitely a better choice than several more hours on open sand.

If you're driving home on Sunday, allow plenty of extra time. In season, getting through the coastal towns can take much longer than navigation suggests outside the holiday period.

Have 3 days? Add Jastrzębia Góra and Chłapowski

With an extra day, you don't need to watch the clock as closely. Follow the plan above for the first two days and use the third to explore farther afield.

Day 3: Jastrzębia Góra, Chłapowski Gorge and Władysławowo

Start the morning in Jastrzębia Góra. Walk towards the North Star monument, the promenade and the cliff coast. With a dog, however, a walk outside the busiest centre is much more enjoyable—especially in July and August.

Later, head to Chłapowo. Chłapowski Gorge, also known as Rudnik, offers another way down towards the sea and adds variety with a route unlike a classic beach walk. For a dog that enjoys exercise and new scents, such places are usually far better than spending all day lying on the sand.

Finally, stop in Władysławowo. Don't plan to tour the town point by point. Treat it as a brief stop before heading home—a walk, coffee or lunch, then back to Rozewie.

This way, in three days you'll see Rozewie, Jastrzębia Góra, Lisi Jar, Dębki, Chłapowski Gorge and Władysławowo, without spending the whole weekend behind the wheel.

Where to stay during a seaside weekend with

For a short stay, your accommodation's location matters greatly. If you're staying only two or three nights, don't waste time commuting daily to walking areas. The most convenient base should offer the sea and green areas nearby, pets welcome and on-site dining.

At Rosevia Resort & SPA in Rozewie, a pet's stay currently costs PLN 100 per night. This includes a mat, bowl, welcome treat and toy; designated walking areas with bins and waste bags are also available at the resort. Your pet's stay must be reported in advance.

See the offer for a Baltic Sea stay with your dog at Rosevia Resort &

You can also choose a stay with breakfast or an HB meal plan. This is very convenient for a weekend trip: instead of looking for dinner after a full day, you return to the resort with most of the logistics taken care of. Just remember that dogs are not allowed in the restaurant, SPA or pools.

What to pack for your dog for a seaside

For two or three days, you don't need half your dog's wardrobe. Still, some things are best not left to chance, especially if you plan beach trips and long walks.

For a weekend with your dog, pack:

  • a leash and spare leash,

  • a harness or collar,

  • a muzzle, if needed,

  • an ID tag with your phone number,

  • a health record,

  • enough food for the stay plus a small

  • treats,

  • a food bowl,

  • a collapsible water bowl,

  • a water bottle for walks,

  • waste bags,

  • a dog towel,

  • a blanket or favourite bed,

  • a toy or chew,

  • a dog-appropriate tick repellent.

In summer, something providing shade on the beach is also useful. Sand can get very hot, so plan the longest walks for morning and evening.

If you're staying somewhere prepared for pets, some equipment may already be provided. At Rosevia, dogs receive a mat, bowl, treat and welcome toy.

A weekend with your dog off-season—why go?

Do you have to visit the Baltic coast with your dog in summer? Not necessarily. Autumn, winter and early spring may actually be better times for a short trip, especially if your pet

After the season, Jastrzębia Góra, Rozewie and Dębki are much quieter. It is easier to plan a long walk, avoid crowds on promenades, and cooler weather suits active dogs.

Beaches are another consideration. In Władysławowo municipality, dog restrictions apply to supervised bathing areas, which operate seasonally. For example, in 2026 the bathing area in Rozewie at entrance 16 operates from 1 July to 31 August, as do some bathing areas in Jastrzębia Góra.

In Dębki, the beach is also easier to enjoy outside the season. A local guide says restrictions at the central bathing areas do not apply from October through the end of April, while in summer the safest choice with a dog is the designated zone at entrance 18.

So if you want a great weekend with your dog and do not plan to swim in the sea, consider October, November, March or April. The Baltic is completely different then—quieter and much better for walks.

Cost of a seaside dog weekend?

The cost mainly depends on the dates, accommodation standard and where you are travelling from. Instead of giving one amount, it is better to count four elements: accommodation + dog fee + food + travel.

For example, for two nights at Rosevia, the dog fee alone is 200 zł, as the current rate is 100 zł per night. Add the price of your chosen apartment and package, plus fuel costs. Accommodation prices may vary by date, so check them directly when booking.

On a short trip, do not look only at the lowest accommodation price. If breakfast, dinner options and walking areas are nearby, you save time travelling and looking for restaurants. With 48 hours by the sea, time is the most limited resource.

Is a dog weekend by sea worthwhile?

Definitely, provided you do not try to see the entire coast in two days. For a short trip, choose one base and only a few nearby places. From Rozewie, spend day one around the cliff and lighthouse, then drive to Dębki on day two and walk through Lisi Jar. With three days, add Chłapowo, Jastrzębia Góra or Władysławowo.

This way, a weekend by the sea with your dog is truly relaxing, not a series of car journeys.

FAQ - weekend by the sea with a dog

Where to go seaside with a dog?

If you want a mix of beach, forest and quiet routes, choose Rozewie, Jastrzębia Góra, Dębki or Białogóra. Rozewie is a good base for planning short trips along this part of the coast.

Which beaches allow dogs?

Rules depend on the town and specific beach section. In Władysławowo municipality, dogs cannot enter supervised bathing areas. In 2026, these operate in Jastrzębia Góra at entrances 22, 23 and 25, and in Rozewie at entrance 16.

In Dębki, the designated dog zone is at entrance 18. However, always check the current signs at the beach entrance before travelling.

Poland: where for a dog weekend?

If you are staying for only two nights, travel time matters greatly. The Baltic is a good choice from northern and central Poland, but for longer journeys consider three nights. This keeps driving from taking over the first and last days.

Which seaside hotels are dog-friendly?

Look for properties that not only allow pets but clearly state their stay policies. Check the fee, dog restrictions, access to walking areas, and whether bowls, a mat or other amenities are provided.

Are 2 days by the sea with a dog enough?

Yes. For a two-day weekend, plan one longer walk each day and no more than one car trip. In Rozewie, visit the cliff and lighthouse area on day one, then Dębki and Lisi Jar on day two.

Worth an autumn seaside dog trip?

Yes, especially if you are going mainly for walks. It is cooler and quieter, and the seasonal bathing areas are closed. For many dogs, these conditions are more comfortable than a crowded beach in mid-July.

Seaside dog weekend: 48 hours may be enough

You do not need a week-long holiday to walk on the beach, enjoy some sea air and change your surroundings. A well-planned weekend with your dog may be enough, especially if you stay close to the sea and avoid long journeys between attractions.

If you are looking for a base, Rosevia Resort & SPA welcomes small and medium-sized dogs with advance notice. Check the current stay conditions and available packages before booking.
